Plain text is a feature
Every few years I try a new notes app, and every few years I come back to a folder of plain text files. They open everywhere, sync with anything and will still be readable long after the current favourite app is gone.
My setup is boring on purpose: one file per day, a short title line, and tags written as #words. Search is just grep. It is fast, private and has never lost a note.
The only thing I added this year is a tiny script that turns the week's files into a single summary every Sunday evening.
